Welcome to After cleaning guest rooms.

The cleanliness and presentation of guest rooms can greatly impact the reputation of a commercial accommodation establishment. This microcredential explores the knowledge and skills required by housekeeping attendants to ensure guest rooms meet organisational standards and customer expectations. It also looks at how these standards and expectations can be met while working safely and using resources efficiently.

After cleaning guest rooms contains nine lessons. By the end of this microcredential, you will have the knowledge and skills to:

• check and replenish room supplies according to organisational requirements
• manage lost property following organisational procedures
• identify and report defects, damage and suspicious items or occurrences according to organisational procedures
• check furniture, fixtures and fittings are clean, in working order and in place according to organisational layout requirements
• clean trolleys and store equipment ready for the next shift
• dispose safely of waste and surplus cleaning products
• replenish or reorder cleaning supplies following organisational procedures.
